1 Inexpensive Effective Way To Spruce Up Your Carpet

I don't know about you but I don't like having to spend a lot of money for carpet cleaning solution.  Not only is it expensive, it really doesn't clean that well.  I decided I needed to find another cleaning method.  My grandma told me about the vinegar, baking soda and dawn dish soap solution.   I was skeptical at first, until I cleaned my carpets for the first time with it.  I can make twice as much solution for less than $10.00.
It really brightened up the carpet and made it softer. It cleaned it better than any store bought solution I have used.  It also acts as a deodorizer for the carpet and is safe for your pets.
I currently have a Hoover SteamVac with Clean Surge.  You add 2 capfuls of vinegar to the solution compartment, next add 2 TBSP of Baking soda and a few squirts of Dawn dish soap.  Fill the remaining compartment with hot water.

Let me know if you have tried this solution and how it worked for you.

  1. Thanks for the idea! I also find that some of the commercial products are so expensive and hardly work.
